An elephant loves to trumpet loudly with its long trunk… But a baby elephant? So small, so quiet, and almost invisible. That hardly stands out, does it? Fanto & Lou is inspired by true, compelling stories of young newcomers. The audience follows a young elephant arriving in Belgium from Africa who thinks he can roam around carefree. But an elephant, no matter how small, always remains too big and too disruptive for some. Fanto will have to find his place as he grows up, because he will soon become a real, big elephant!
Fanto & Lou brings us the travel story of children who come from far away and is based on the unvarnished harsh reality, yet told through tender metaphors. Geneviève Damas wrote the text and Jean-Luc Fafchamps the composition for ten musicians. It is a moving and funny story in which the little elephant trumpets ever louder and more powerfully, from the alto saxophone to the baritone saxophone!
