Caroline Shaw & Sō Percussion
Bozar - Henry Le Boeuf Room , BrusselsSō Percussion and Caroline Shaw explore the possible fields of voice in encounter with percussion.
For twenty-five years, the New York-based percussion quartet Sō Percussion has been redefining 21st-century chamber music and reinventing the art of percussion. Eccentric, emotive, inventive, and virtuosic, their world and repertoire are as original as they are sophisticated. Committed to celebrating diversity, equity, and inclusion, the quartet also prioritizes the most open musical collaborations, convinced of music's communicative and communicative potential. For Urban Nature, Sō Percussion will be joined by Pulitzer Prize-winning artist Caroline Shaw, who will perform the vocal parts herself. Together, they will present a program drawn from their collaborative albums, Let the Soil Play its Simple Part (2021) and Rectangles and Circumstance (2024). All musical forms are developed there, from experimental pop to more contemplative and meditative creations, supported by texts and vocal, sonic or percussive research, always original.
